1966 Mercedes-Benz 230SL

An interesting find with exceptionally low mileage and long-term history to the prior owner, who was gifted the car about 30 years ago. It benefits from extensive service under the current owner.

Yes, the odometer and speedometer both work.

What a great question. I bought the car to drive it and the only reason I am selling it is because I don’t get to drive it enough. I needs to be driven. Summers are just too short in Regina. It was a little disconcerting at first and I still get a little confused when people honk or give me the thumbs up. I can’t remember a time at the gas station when the person at the next pump comes over to ask “what year is that”. If I’m being honest, I wish it were faster “off the line”. But good mid-range power. I can cruise around our city by-pass expressway with the roof off at 65 or 70 mph, without a shake or a squeak. When a woman at work said “What a cute car!”, I replied with what my mechanic always says: “don’t call it cute – this is a big boy car”. Haha. Sorry, I know we are supposed to be objective in these chats – but I love this car.

Sorry, that must just be the lighting. The whole car was painted 20 years ago and overall is good and consistent.

The original star was stolen. The star on the car is cracked. The star I am holding in the picture is better. I have not installed it.

Yes, I took some more pics of the paint and underside this morning, as well as a short video of a cold start. I’m sure Shiftgate will upload them shortly.
