The Vanquish nameplate goes back to 2001, when the naturally aspirated V12 marque flagship arrived with carbon fiber and aluminum alloy construction. It quickly achieved worldwide fame as the hero car in the 2002 James Bond film Die Another Day. Featuring the most potent engine in the Aston Martin family with a host of new technology, Vanquish became synonymous with the company’s ultimate grand tourer offering.
As the British automaker approached its centennial in 2013, a new Vanquish was unveiled. Sitting on the VH platform, it featured aspects of the ultra-exclusive One-77 like the side strakes running nearly to the door handles and a wild rear spoiler ordered by Aston chief Dr. Ulrich Bez. Not to mention the entirely carbon fiber body mated to an alloy structure.
Volante, Italian for “flying”, is how Aston has described their convertibles since 1965. This second-gen Vanquish variant arrived in 2013 and as you can see in the detailed gallery, it is simply a stunning automobile. Piloting a V12-powered sports car is surely on every enthusiast’s list, doing so with the top down while 568 naturally aspirated horsepower scream with delight is what this 2015 example will deliver.
