Finished in Arctic Silver Metallic, the condition of this 2005 Boxster benefits from never seeing snow or winter under current ownership and fewer than 1,000 km (621 mi) of driving annually. On the whole, it is in amazing shape.
It has never been in an accident, has no history of paint or bodywork, and has no rust present per the seller. A handful of minor blemishes are highlighted in the gallery including a scrape by the driver-side fog lamp, a chip in the driver-side bulkhead trim piece, and a scuff on the rear bumper.
The power-operated black soft top functions properly though the owner notes a small cotton cord, with no apparent function, is visible when the top is lowered.
Features include headlamp washers, integrated fog lamps, silver side intakes, a power-retractable rear spoiler, and a single center exhaust outlet.
Original 5-spoke 18” Boxster S wheels are fitted with black crest center caps and look to be in very good shape all around. They are mounted in Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires sized 235/40 up front and 255/40 out back. They show 2009 date codes and are believed to be original to the car.
Other highlights include cross-drilled rotors and black-finished calipers with white Porsche lettering all around, clear lighting lenses, an immaculate Porsche crest up front, rear fender stone guards, and a clean undercarriage.
Known issues include a non-operational key fob door lock/unlock feature. It stopped working a few years ago per the owner, who locks the car manually with the key and turns off the alarm system by inserting the key into the ignition. As well, the front trunk struts are in need of replacement as they no longer keep the lid open.
Inside, black leather heated buckets are finished with contrast stitching and perforated inserts. They look to be in very good shape with minor side bolster creasing and bottom cushion wrinkling on the driver’s side.
The color extends to the center console, door panels, dashboard, carpeting, and cargo hold, all of which are in equally fine shape with no major scuffs, no cracking evident, and no staining. As seen in the gallery, there is some fading on the driver-side door handle.
The three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel features a colored Porsche crest center and frames a set of analog instrumentation. It is dominated by the large central 8,000-rpm tachometer which is flanked by a 280-km/h speedometer and combination gauge for coolant temperature and fuel level.
Features include contrast stitched leather on the shifter boot and parking brake lever, wind deflector, automatic climate control, and power accessories.
The silver center stack retains the original AM/FM stereo with a CD player and looks amazing, aside from fading on the temperature and fan switches.
That Flat-Six Song
Mounted amidships is the original 2.7L flat-six paired with a five-speed manual to spin the rear wheels. This powertrain came from the factory with a two-stage resonance intake manifold, VarioCam variable valve timing, and dry-sump lubrication. It was rated for 240 hp and 199 lb-ft of torque when new.
Under current ownership, this 2005 Boxster has received annual oil changes and tire rotations as needed. It was serviced at Marks Motors Porsche in Ottawa, Ontario between 2010 and 2016 with Exurocar Elegant Autos in Orillia, Ontario handling maintenance since then.
In spring 2019, at 58,911 km (36,606 mi), a safety inspection was completed, ownership was transferred from the lease company, and the front brake rotors, pads, and sensors were replaced. There are no records available prior to 2015 as they were lost in a fire.
Per the owner, the Boxster drives beautifully with no known mechanical issues.
Located in Gravenhurst, Ontario, this unmodified 2005 Porsche Boxster has been under current ownership for the past 11 years. In that time, only 25,945 (16,121) of the original 61,945 km (38,491 mi) have been added.
Named “Violet” by her current owners, the car is being sold to make space for other vehicles and because they only have time to drive her about 1,000 km annually.
This Canadian-market 2005 Boxster has received a tremendous level of care under current ownership that, combined with very low mileage, ensures it is ready to deliver loads of mid-engine motoring thrills to its next caretaker.
