Shimmering in Silver
Finished in Arctic Silver Metallic with a black, power-operated soft top, the stunning presentation of this 2005 Boxster can be attributed to the owner’s background in the detailing and body shop business. Paint protection film has been applied to the front bumper, front fenders, headlamps, and hood with plenty of detail shots in the gallery documenting the overall condition. There is no rust on the vehicle.
Fitted with optional bi-xenon headlamps with integrated cleaning and levelling system, all lenses are in excellent condition. Features include integrated fog lamps, heated and auto-dimming side mirrors, speed-activated rear spoiler and dual exhaust outlets. The convertible top, which is shown operating in the gallery, has a heated glass window and, per Porsche, can open or close in 12 seconds at speeds up to approximately 30 mph.
Optional, staggered-width 19” Carrera S “lobster claw” wheels are fitted with colored Porsche crest center and valve stem caps. They are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport rubber sized 235/35 up front and 265/35 out back. Cross-drilled rotors are clamped by four-piston calipers all around finished in silver with white Porsche lettering.
The vehicle was in an accident on July 9, 2018, that damaged the front driver’s-side bumper and rear passenger-side bumper. Both bumpers were replaced and both doors were clear coated and blended. Per the owner, who notes their 10 years of experience in detailing and body shop work, the repair work was done extremely well with no frame or other significant damage, and no impact on drivability.
Simple, Classic Understated German Luxury
The cabin is appointed in a Black and Stone Grey bi-color theme, highlighted by the two-tone leather seats with contrast stitching. They are heated, power-adjustable and feature memory settings for the driver. The 3-spoke steering wheel frames a central, 8,000-rpm tachometer flanked by a 175-mph speedometer with inset odometer and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level.
Dashboard and center stack surfaces are in good condition with fading seen on the temperature and fan speed switches. The original Porsche stereo is fitted, and this car was optioned with the 11-speaker Bose surround sound audio system that includes a subwoofer and remote 6-disc CD changer. Additional features include automatic climate control, Porsche floor mats and the optional wind deflector. Per the owner, the trip computer and cruise control are inoperable, requiring a software flash from a Porsche dealership.
That Flat Six Song
Sitting behind the seats is the original 2.7L flat-six motor that made 240 hp and 199 lb-ft of torque when. Featuring VarioCam variable valve timing, dry sump lubrication and Motronic ME 7.8 engine management system, it is paired to a 5-speed manual that spins the rear wheels. There are no known mechanical issues with the car. The most recent service was an oil change performed January 8, 2022, at a Scottsdale, Arizona Porsche specialist. An invoice for this oil change is included in the sale and service records via Carfax are available.
