History

Renowned the world over for its ability to tackle any terrain while keeping occupants cozy, the Range Rover is simply legendary. Initially produced between 1969 and 1996, these original models are known as the Classic, which is perfectly suited to the truck up for auction today.

Purpose-built to do hard work in rural terrain, these early Range Rovers were originally designed to be washed out with a hose. They sit on box-section ladder frames and feature permanent four-wheel drive. As the years went on, however, Land Rover realized the luxury potential and set to work creating the upscale Range Rover as we know it today.
