That Color! Those Wheels!
The gorgeous Pacific Green finish on this 1996 F-150 is rarely seen and shows incredibly well. Along with a lifetime spent in Oregon, where the roads are not salted in winter, this truck also spent the first 25 years of its life with the same family who was clearly meticulous about upkeep.
There are a handful of minor finish flaws, including on the tailgate, but on the whole, this F-150 is super clean. There is no history of paint or bodywork and no rust present per the owner.
Features include a chrome front grille and bumper, with rubber inserts on the latter, body-color mirrors, white pinstripes, a spray-in bed liner with rubber mat, rear bumper step, and receiver hitch.
Of course, those deep-dish 15” polished wheels are show stoppers all by themselves. Forged units from Alcoa, these 10-hole alloys are wrapped in Michelin Defender LTS M/S rubber sized 235/75 with 2020 and 2021 date codes. They frame disc brakes up front and drums out back.
Other notable highlights include a new windshield installed this year and lighting lenses that are clear and free of cracks all around. The undercarriage is said to be in very good condition throughout.
Simple and Spotless
The cabin on this 1996 Ford is equal to the exterior in its spotless condition and simple setup. The front bench is wrapped in gray cloth with patterned inserts joined by a color-matched dashboard and door panels. The factory black vinyl floor covering is present and looks good.
The four-spoke steering wheel, with airbag, frames a black instrument binnacle with an 85-mph speedometer and inset odometer reading 70,575 miles. Additional gauges include oil pressure, coolant temperature, battery voltage, and fuel level.
Door panels are both in very good condition and feature hand-crank windows with vents. Features include cruise control, an AM/FM stereo with a cassette deck, and air conditioning.
The dashboard looks to be in excellent shape and includes a storage bin on the passenger side. As seen in the gallery, the dome and glove box lights are both working.
The 5.0
Sitting in a pristine engine bay is the original fuel-injected 5.0L V8 that made 195 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque when new. It pairs with a four-speed automatic transmission to spin the rear wheels. This truck features dual fuel tanks controlled via a dashboard switch.
Work performed in 2022 includes a new radiator and oxygen sensors, tire rotation, and topping off of all fluids. The truck was said to be fitted with Gabriel Ultra shocks under previous ownership as part of self-performed maintenance. There are no known mechanical issues.
Long Term Ownership
Located in Santa Rosa, California, this 1996 Ford F-150 XL has been under current ownership since March of this year. It was purchased from a seller who acquired the truck, also in 2022, from the family that owned it since new in Oregon.
Only showing 70,575 miles, this classic beauty comes with factory literature and a clean Carfax report that shows no accidents or damage.
Examples of OBS F-150s in this kind of shape are few and far between. The fact that today’s pretty Pacific Green example spent most of its life with one family who showered it with care only makes it that much more special.
