Finished in red, the original paint on this 1984 Firebird shows a high level of shine that benefits from a lifetime of garage storage. Touch-up paint can be seen on both rocker panels and a handful of blemishes including rock chips on the front end and a ¾” area of faded clear coat on the rear end. Per the owner, there is no rust present.
Features include pop-up headlights, a front air dam, body-color bumpers with rubber inserts up front, B-pillar Phoenix decals, a body-color rear spoiler, and a mean pair of polished exhaust pipes that are part of a new Magnaflow system with deleted catalytic converter.
Factory 15” alloys with Phoenix center caps are wrapped in Aurora Radial tires sized 215/65 all around. Curb rash on the front driver-side wheel is noted in the gallery.
The headlight motors have been recently replaced and can be seen operating in the gallery, as can undercarriage surface corrosion.
The previous owner reupholstered all four seats in a patterned gray fabric that looks to be in very good shape all around. He also installed a new headliner that appears to be in equally solid condition.
The black upper dash shows well with no signs of cracking. It features a beige lower section that is joined by black and beige door panels with gray inserts. Door panels are also in very good shape and feature map pockets. The original beige carpeting shows wear on both sides of the transmission tunnel.
Wrapped in black leather, the three-spoke steering wheel with Firebird horn button frames a set of aircraft-inspired gauges. They include an 85-mph speedometer, 6,000-rpm tachometer, combination voltage, and oil pressure gauge, and combination gauge for fuel level and coolant temperature.
The mechanical odometer reads 8,651 but has rolled over once for a total mileage of 108,651.
Features include air-conditioning, power windows, a glove box with the Firebird logo, and WeatherTech all-season floor mats. The previous owner installed an aftermarket Pioneer head unit with a CD player along with new original stock speaker units.
Other highlights include the original Body by Fisher door sill covers, dome light shown working, and a clean carpeted cargo hold with an underfloor storage bin.

Located in Closter, New Jersey, this 1984 Pontiac Firebird has been under current ownership for the past two years, during which 4,000 of the original 108,651 miles have been added.
The first owner kept the car stored in his garage, driving it only in fair weather conditions. It was sold to the second owner, an older gentleman in North Carolina, whom the current owner purchased it from.
It has continued to be stored in a garage and is the recipient of numerous car show awards as seen in the gallery. Items accompanying the sale include three keys, the original owner’s manual, a Revell model kit still wrapped in plastic, and vintage Knight Rider activity books.
Treated to a lifetime of careful ownership, the condition of this 1984 Pontiac Firebird belies the fact that it is nearly 40 years old. Sporting V8 power and a beautiful red finish, this car pulls hard on the 80s nostalgia heartstrings.
